marciesmusings_wordpress_comMarcie Somers is a Marketing Professional who loves to write and is very good at it! Marcie was referred to me and over the period of about a month I coached her through starting her first blog!

In addition to coaching I also helped our with some graphic customization, and set up as well as trouble shooting some minor bugs as she came across them.

I wish Marcie all the success with her blog, and look forward to helping her with her Professional Website when she’s ready to begin working on that.

twitter.com/flowersmeller

gosmelltheflowers-com-screenAnother great background from orionsweb…

Flowersmeller’s twitter page was looking great, but as with many twitter pages, they look great at very high resolution but for a huge number of browsers they look as this did here: (the background image is cut off by the twitter central content.

So we went ahead and, using Flowersmeller’s background and some graphics from their website, we created their new background for their twitter page! Want to see what it will look like after a new custom background? (more…)

sails.co.jp

Sport SailingA long time client came to us recently to create a website for the Melbourne to Osaka Sailing Race, other sailing adventures and more.

Once again, WordPress came to the rescue. Utilizing the built in features, plus some well developed plugins and a thoroughly modified theme from StudioPress we were able to put together a well received website.

Visit http://www.sails.co.jp and please leave your thoughts with us in the comments section below…

thebeachparty.ca

thebeachparty_caDJ Daryl MacLean came to us knowing what he wanted. We worked with him to create the logo for his Friday and Saturday Night Beach Party Radio production and then to create the website that would help promote the show.

As most sites are a work in progress we continue to support and manage MacLean Productions’ website and have integrated his podcast, advertising, a small cart offering ‘beachware‘ and his online contest which goes along with the twice weekly radio show.

Be sure to visit thebeachparty.ca, leave a comment or two and tune in online every Friday & Saturday night!

insectdefendpatch.com

insectdefendpatch_comAKM Services Inc. came to us early in 2008 with a request to design them a website for a new product to Canada, the Insect Defend Patch.

Orion’s Web consulted on branding, image, packaging, and some marketing and then put together the website to support the products’ introduction and penetration into the market.

Not only is the patch a fantastic product (We’ve tested in on numerous camps and golfing in cottage country!), but they’ve got a great website too! lol.. Check out insectdefendpatch.com and feel free to leave a comment.

golfkelowna.com

golfkelowna_comGolf Kelowna! has been a client with Orion’s Web since 2003 when they came to us to redesign their initial website.

A website geared to promote Golfing on at three local Clubs in Kelowna (Shannon Lake, Shadow Ridge, and Kelowna Springs) Golf Kelowna! has gone through a few redesigns, and many add ons along the way.

Take a look at their newest site design which incorporates slideshows and some interesting work with layers and CSS.

ledluco.com

ledluco_comLuco Light Systems had an existing website. They needed someone to help manage the site, look after updates and maintenance for them.

Initially they had new product that needed to get up on the site right away and gallery photos to show off their work. One of the first upgrades we did on the site was to add the lightbox javascript effect to the images in their gallery and throughout the site. Originally the images simply opened onto a blank page providing no navigation to get back to the site except for using the browser’s back button.

smithweb.co.jp

smithweb_co_jpA long-time client of Orionsweb, Smith’s School of English in Japan recently relaunched a new design for it’s Japanese students. Smithweb is a local site, written in japanese which provides each of it’s 45 + school locations with their own pages.

The site not only provides information about Smith’s School of English in Japan, but it is valuable advertising tool for each franchise in their own local areas.

As this site is totally in japanese, and I of course do not speak, read or write the language (I can say ‘arigato’ that’s about it, lol) so the site itself is the work of staff at Smith’s. We’ve basically worked on producing the xHTML and CSS code and integration, change over from the old site, hosting, and technical consulting on the project.
